Annliese
Week 1
Week 1 During the week we learned and tried sustainable print production methods, which I also tried after the course. First, conventional leaves were used for printing. At this step, you will encounter problems with irregular leaf veins and uneven pigmentation. But in the process, I also discovered that the patterns produced by uncontrollable factors are more lifelike and have a natural breathing feel. And later I found that because of these irregular shapes, my subsequent pattern development became more interesting.(slides1-3) After getting the basic graphic elements I also developed them. Got more and more interesting patterns.(4-5)

Week2
Based on our lecture this week, I discovered more aspects of learning how to use technology to impact the fashion industry. For example, when designing fashion, schools now more commonly teach students to use 3D modeling to complete some designs. This teaching concept not only reduces the amount of fabric used in the early stages of production, but also makes it easier to preserve. Of course, it’s not just this. More technologies are also entering our lives to reduce the environmental harm caused by fashion. For example, 3D modeling technology. This technology replaces a large part of the fashion pollution caused by accessories, such as gases during the production of soft glue. However, due to the popularity of 3D modeling, it not only reduces the waste of raw materials but also makes the jewelry more durable. (Slides 6-8)

Week 3
In this week's lecture study, we learned about nature. Because of this lesson, I also discovered a lot of inspiration in life that can be applied to my own works. Leaves, which used to be common and ubiquitous around me, can also be used by me to make prints and elements. And because of the diversity of nature and the different styles of each student, we created a variety of creative works. This was also a lesson that made me feel the creativity and fun of fashion again. In my experiments after class, I made dried flowers and spliced them into different patterns. And I drew them based on the painting techniques I have learned so far.

Week 4
In this week’s study, we learned that the fashion industry has a huge impact on global pollution. In particular, the rise of fast fashion business has brought the issue of environmental pollution in the fashion industry to the forefront. In the after-class study, I learned that denim fabrics are very harmful to the environment. Especially the water pollution during the production process. Many workshops do not have complete water circulation systems. Therefore, many factories do not meet corresponding standards for sewage discharge. According to current research statistics, the production of a denim product requires about 67 liters of water. Such research results are very distressing.
In my own research, I have used coffee powder to dye fabrics. Experiments like this taught me the importance of sustainable development. And a better green and environmentally friendly dyeing method. And understand the importance of recyclable dyeing methods in the fashion field.

Week 5
During this week’s study, I discovered that fabric printing is also a very powerful language. Different from the words we say in daily life, and body language. I never thought that fabric printing could also be a language of communication. This reminds me that in many movies and TV series, the protagonist’s mood changes and personality changes are expressed by changes in clothing. For example, in the movie “The Devil Wears Prada”, the heroine’s personality changes are reflected by changes in clothing. Our clothes are also a strong language of communication in our daily lives. For example, the clothing styles and fabric printing choices for formal and casual occasions are also different. This class made me more aware that my prints will also change for different occasions in my future designs.

I think my own lecture study was relatively successful. During these weeks I learned more about fashion and how to apply it to my own designs. At this stage, I also find that the current fashion stage should focus more on environmentally friendly development.
During the first week of study, I learned that many objects in life can provide inspiration in my design. Because of this week of study, I care more about things that can be seen everywhere in life as my own inspiration. This is also very interesting to me. When doing homework in the first week, many students used leaves as a printing element. But even the same leaves look different in the works of different people. This makes me feel that there is no limit to fashion design.
The second week of study also allowed me to learn more cutting-edge fashion information. Among them, the 3D printing technology I learned has actually gradually become popular in our lives. This also surprised me very much
During the fourth week of learning, I did coffee grounds blending. Although it was just a small experiment, it made me think of more ways to color fabrics. I hope to apply this to my work in future studies as well.
The fifth week of study is the closest to my current design. I started by painting a lot of graphic elements. Then I used Photoshop to create it and got many different patterns. Also because of this week’s study, I learned that patterns in fashion are not just a decoration, but a language that can communicate.
All in all, I have learned a lot of new knowledge during these few weeks of study, and I also hope that I can apply the knowledge I have learned in the next study.
In my opinion, the content of week3 and week5 is related and rich. The collection and first-hand research of dried flowers is very interesting. You recorded the presentation of dried flowers using different methods such as color and line. In the second print of Week3, the use of colors is very worth exploring, as the use of contrasting colors and the depiction from multiple angles are eye-catching.
The print sketch of week5 is very creative. Especially the color selection and changes in the thickness of the lines in the second work, it seems to make me truly feel the blooming flowers.
My only curious point about Week5 is whether these creations come from computer data or hand drawn. If its computer drawn, I want to encourage the author to try hand drawn because there are some unexpected line directions during the hand drawn process.
Finally, I believe that Annliese has a very concrete choice in both painting techniques and color blending, which makes her works very eye-catching.
