Week One, introduction of sustainability.

For Tate tour, I got the idea of how artist respond to the soft /subtle, sensitive scene or atmosphere. I focused my research on the color and the lines. And how they use of mix-media like painting color powder, oil paint , silkscreen print in paper etc. Also the relationship between space , line, color and human figures . I got so much inspired by the color . So that I used into the workshop experiment.
sustainability material to make print, combine the former research of the color .

Print form workshop
As for our workshop. I’ve used recycle material as the brush to make the print marks. I’ve tried ink, oil paste. However for the main print I’ve shown. I used a piece of card box as the tool, add oil paste on top and press on the paper and roll in different angle. I really like the way how it move. And unexpected visual surprise. I also edit another experiment sustainability tool print .

WEEK TWO, Technology Development
In this week , I did some digital layering to do a combine of my research . I use ps to layer . I just play with scale, transform, contrast and the colour balance. It is very playful and can get inspired by playing with it just without much mindset . I choose some final work and show it in the blog below.

This picture at bottom are my primary research about plants in my home . As for the cover is some picture from internet. First is from agust malmstrom, holland pinter. Second is from weibo (@puluosake), the last one is me taking photo at barbican center. I like how this linked together . Giving me idea about positive and negative space in print .
WEEK THREE, Nature
In this week I went to barbican center, queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Victoria park. I took a lot of picture there about what I’m interested. Mostly I‘m taking picture about sunshine and shadow with human figure and some plants. I like the texture and the different effect from nature. It’s like we are beening embrace by all those beautiful staff that can heal our souls. It giving me so much inspiration and energy from this week’s topic. I also did some phot about moon . Moon always changes just like our emotion. Human body is just like the sea tides links to the change of moon. It is so romantic and make me feel so magic that all of the artist photography, poetry, drawing have same topic about nature. I’ll show some picture from park and some from internet with my research below.

From this week, I explore so much nature space in London and also online. I get to feel more about what I’m doing. Also, I had an experimental thought about how to feel a duck’s feel while they are in the water.
Personal experience linked to nature explore

I tried to put bath boom in my tub, and the moment it spread out in the water, it reminded me of when I saw the ducks paddling away from the floats on the lake in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park a few days ago, creating a boundary line. This boundary line was a simple circle as was the diffusion boundary around me in the bathtub. But the shape of the bath-ball diffusion and the shape of the floats on the lake are the only traces that prove the existence of me and the ducks, a way of perceiving that allows me to better synesthesia with the situation of creatures outside my body. There is no difference between me in a bathtub and a duck in a lake filled with floating microbes for nature.
WEEK FOUR, Culture Sustainability
In this week, I ‘ve done research from Chinese social media(little red book). I looked up for amount of ceramic artist’s work .

Ceramic/ pottery / china are originally from CHINA, the culture of ceramic making from Jingdezhen, JIang Xi Province, CHINA can be traced back as far as the Han Dynasty(202-220 B.C) . During the Eastern Han Dynasty, glazed celadon porcelain was already being fired in the Jingdezhen region. It is still been passing through in this generation. There are tons of young ceramic artist are keeping on bring the contemporary art’s view into Jingdezhen’s old school esthetic. Those young artist sharing their work and a new way lifestyle on their account on Little Red Book. This even attract more foreign artist from all over the world ,comes to change their knowledge and experience .
How research inspired me.During the study of Jingdezhen’s young generation ‘s artist work. I’m interested about the the glazes on their ceramic pieces, which has a lot of similarities to the PRINT profession. And the artificial glazes on the ceramics mimic the natural texture as well as the atmosphere.

WEEK FIVE, Empathy
Talking about ’Empathy‘, reminds me about mother and daughter, lovers, this kind of close relationship. In another word, I think empathy always happens in close relationship. But for my personal experience , it might be super stressful. I did research about photographer ‘ Ellen Rogers’ , who shoot the main themes about women, link into women. And did a drawing to respond about how subtle this kind of feeling are spreading through visual media.

It is obvious that close relationship for women can be combine with a lot of complex feeling, Love, care, jealousy, possessiveness, aversion, comparison, heart-to-heart. Empathy can easily been triggered during women’s connection. However, it is about the self-growth in every relationship, not only in certain gender. When love comes, empathy and other emotion comes next.
Self reflection :
I’ve noticed that I didn’t done that much direct research to show the connection between the explore and the work of what I’m doing. But I believed that as long as I can keep explore the world with my observation , I can create more directly deep in connection work with what I’ve seen and felt. It is such a joyful study in LCF. Every week I”m progressing myself with every task from each week. I’ve learned embrace the challenge . Compares to other excellent student in our class. I’m more like to do the primary and experiment style research step. I got less digital and edit skills. It is a reminder for me to learn not only from class, but also from our classmate. Every one are so unique. I ‘ll keeping up with other classmate’s step.
You’ve engaged in extensive research and learning, and it’s proven to be highly effective. Your dedication and hard work are evident in your work, which is immensely helpful. I was particularly captivated by your creations during the second week. These images exude a remarkable sensitivity that resonates with viewers.
Your personal experiences intertwined with nature exploration are profoundly intriguing. The colors and marks that inspire you are a testament to your unique perspective. It’s apparent that you can harness these inspirations for further development. Perhaps experimenting with a wider array of colors and finer details could be beneficial, drawing from the inspiration you gained during your first week at the Tate Gallery. It’s a remarkable palette for your artistic journey.
In your artistic endeavors, you’ve already demonstrated great potential. However, I believe that delving deeper into various concepts and techniques will enrich your body of work. Consider exploring different mediums such as color paper, fabric, or other materials to broaden your creative horizons. Additionally, seeking inspiration in different contexts, like landscapes, figures, or abstract themes, can further diversify and infuse creativity into your art.
In conclusion, I encourage you to continue your exploration and development in the world of art. You’ve already shown significant promise, and your work is truly captivating. Keep pushing your boundaries and challenging yourself, and you’ll undoubtedly achieve even greater heights in the print.
