week1
Since we visited the Tate Art Exhibition last week, many printed works in the exhibition gave me ideas about creating sustainable Works . So I used shopping packaging bags, plastic seals and other common but not highly used materials in daily life. In this process, the grain of the background plate can also determine the presentation of the print.Things i can improve: In this experiment, my preparation is not enough, so I will collect information in advance and try more materials collocation methods next time.
WEEK TWO——————————
After combining the theme of last week’s Tate exhibition and Technology, some works gave me great inspiration in lines and prints. So I made two prints in a similar way to the show.

When it comes to technology, the first idea that comes to my mind is multiple creative methods, such as the current interest in the development of online special effects and virtual clothing. so, the work i did is a combination of prints and facial effects.

WEEK 3
In this week’s research on nature, I used spray paint and raw flowers as materials. I pressed the shapes of flowers and leaves onto paper or fabric, covered them with spray paint, and finally removed the flowers to obtain a spray-painted bouquet print. By stacking and coloring these prints, the following print patterns can be obtained.

WEEK 4
Cultural sustainability can be extended to cultural reconstruction, such as traditional Chinese colors, which have been re valued in today’s society due to the development of architecture and tradition. Most of these colors come from bronze equipment, ancient clothing, and architectural colors, which are mostly highly saturated. In this week’s research, I watched the documentary “The Most Beautiful Chinese Color”, which detailed the development and inheritance history of colors.

WEEK 5
This week’s theme is something I particularly enjoy, and I believe that themes involving emotions can make people empathize and have more space for color creation. I chose the installation project “Grandma’s Cabinet” that I did not long ago, which means recalling every day I spent with my grandmother during my childhood. Using children’s hand drawn techniques to bring viewers’ thoughts back to their childhood and evoke resonance in people’s hearts towards childhood.

SELF-reflection
SELF-REFLECTION
Based on the blog posts posted over the past five weeks, I believe there are some shortcomings that I have made that need improvement.
- The preliminary research should include more content and try to narrate and express some emotions as much as possible, which will be beneficial for the development of more directions in the future.
- In the process of creation, one should be good at recording the development direction of the work.
- Efforts should be made to minimize the use of previous works and focus on creating new ones.
- In the process of creation on class, it is also necessary to try new combinations and color combinations as much as possible.
After reading Jollin’s blog, I discovered that she is a very thoughtful classmate. From the blog of the second week, I felt her extraordinary creativity. Compared to my own design. Her designs are more alive. And her use of color is very clever. Especially in the first picture, I was really shocked by her use of color and abstract expression. I don’t think it’s a pattern. Instead I think the first picture is a very good work of art. Among them, the repeated method of staggered sizes is something I will not use because I am afraid that it will make my picture confusing. But after looking at her works, I think the repetitive pattern of staggered sizes is very vital. And I can sense her bravery and love for color in her work. Of course, her attempts are not limited to arrangement and color use. It’s like the second picture. Even her use of repetitive arrangements. But I can still see the bold use of color and keen capture of graphics in her works.
All in all, I am very grateful for this opportunity to evaluate her, which also allowed me to learn more about different design directions. I hope that I will have the opportunity to communicate and learn in the future.
