I have submitted all the work for each week, I enjoyed responding to the lectures that were delivered to me. The first week was one of my favourite responses as I loved all the different outcomes of the variety of textures from the recycled materials. Week 2 was about technology I find it helpful to work digitally too as it can give you a vision of what your print will look like when printed onto fabric, and for me, I feel as though it is reassuring to envision it before making it. The next week was about nature linked with sustainability, so I carried out a natural dyeing process which turned out very well and it is a process I am going to carry out in the future. By naturally dyeing my fabric it was a lot more sustainable and less harmful to the nature/ environment that we live amongst. Fashion is one of the most water-intensive industries resulting in large amounts of pollution. One thing I feel I could have experimented a little more is with using a variety of mediums when I carried out mark-making. I could have played around with textures when using watercolour or oil pastels etc.
I also feel like in the future I would love to produce different colours for my natural dyeing process as I was pleased with how strong the colour was from the turmeric, next time it may be interesting to use beetroot to get a nice red tone on a fabric.
You’re finishing quickly, which is good. I really like the layout of your blog. You set the title area to the same color as the content you publish every week. As a viewer, I feel very comfortable and can see that you have invested time in this aspect. You were able to make corresponding printing experiments on the themes assigned each week, and your colleagues uploaded the production process diagram and wrote notes underneath. It can be seen that you spent time completing the blog task after class. I particularly like the theme of sustainability in the fourth week. You collected some environmentally friendly materials, such as plastic bags, and made a collage. This perfectly reflects the theme of the fourth week. I can see that you are a very thoughtful and organized person, but in addition to posting some pictures of printing experiments, I also want to see more of your thoughts on the weekly lecture theme, such as what do you think of this theme? How do you want to achieve it, and why are your outputs relevant to your theme. In fact, if you don’t explain these, I can still see some of your thoughts, but why not try to write them down. This can also increase the integrity of the blog and make the bolg look less blunt.I think everything else is very good. I must continue to maintain this very positive attitude towards blogs and keep working hard.
